This flush-mounted socket from Merten is intended to control window or door blinds. A pattress box is needed for installation. The unit is designed for use within a 3-wire system, which means that a neutral wire (blue) is needed for operations. The motor of the blind is connected to the control by two wires and the neutral wire. This flush-mounted socket is no Z-Wave device but needs to be completed with an active Z-Wave-equipped switching-paddle like MER_503519 or MER_504519 plus an appropriate mounting frame of the switch series selected. The socket provides the power to the active Z-Wave-equipped switching-paddle. The paddle itself controls the socket via electrical signals as well.
