This flush-mounted socket from Merten is intended to control window or door blinds. A pattress box is needed for installation. The unit is designed for use within a 3-wire system, which means that a neutral wire (blue) is needed for operations. The motor of the blind is connected to the control by two wires and the neutral wire. Additionally to the local switching paddle the unit can be controlled via a second control interface. This allows to attach a second switch or a wind shield alarm function. This flush-mounted socket is no Z-Wave device but need to be completed with an active Z-Wave-equipped switching paddle like MER_503519 or MER_504519 plus an appropriate mounting frame of the switch series selected. The socket provides the power to the active Z-Wave-equipped switching paddle. The paddle itself controls the socket via electrical signals as well.
